Coal Industry Social Welfare organisation



The Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation (CISWO) provides a range of services and support to people in South Wales who have links with the mining industry. They focus on providing support and practical assistance to individuals and groups in the broad areas of health, financial and personal problem solving. Among the services that are offered to former miners and their families are:
- Assistance with convalescence and holidays
- Counselling and support at times of personal difficulty
- benefits advice and help
- access to funds for those facing financial hardship
- help with independent living
- bereavement support
- information on health and disability issues
